Missy - one of our youth who has been diagnosed with Cervical Dystonia as a secondary to something unidentified. She is in much pain and wants to go on the Youth Mission trip to Africa. Pray that they will find the source of her problems and for her to know what God wants her to do about the trip.

Praise & Request:
Greg still has a job with GM, but so many have been cut. He has asked us to pray for these families.

Jeff Anz offers a word of praise as his eyes have healed. At this time marks 1 year of being diagnosed with retina problems. We praise God for this and his faith that he shares.

Sherre Johnston found out today that she has severe heart arrhythmia. She will be having a heart cath. next Tuesday In addition to that she will wear a heart monitor and will see a specialist in the weeks to come. She asks for prayers for healing as well as protection for the procedure on Tuesday.

Randy Williams had an spinal tap done and it looks like what he has is actually MS. The test results will not be in for a few weeks. Please pray for a quick diagnosis so that the proper treatments can begin. Also his wife Audie is recovering from major surgery so please pray for her as well.

Continue praying for Cory Priests brother-in-law - he has Huntington Disease and it seems to be getting worse.

Dori Mattson’s brother passed away. Please pray for her family during this difficult time.

Patty Priest has asked us to pray for Cory's bro.-in-law, Kerry, who battles with Huntington's disease. He has 3 children, Garrett, Hunter, and Meredith.

Perry Glanzer is currently working on a book that has a deadline coming up shortly. Please pray for him as he writes and reaches this deadline. Perry has been and continues to be our wonderful teacher instructing us with God's word and challenging us to think and grow in Christ. We are so grateful for his leadership in our SS class!

Daryn Landrum, a guest in our class has all made us really think about our children. He has 3 boys that he wants to see grow in the Lord in their identity and to have godly friends. As we pray for these Landrum boys, may we also continue to lift up our own children in these areas.

Cory and Patti Priests friend Randy Williams does not have vertigo. They are pursuing now vascular possibilities with a neurologist this week so please pray for wisdom and healing.

Sunday, Feb. 15 marked 1 year of sobriety for Chrisann's sister, Cherie Chadwick. We offer up to God a praise of Thanksgiving for her life and for healing her from potential death due to alcohol. Her body is a walking testimony of a miracle!! Praise to the Lord!! Thank you for all who prayed for her!

Chrisann Fritscher-pray that she will find some relief from the increased dosage of Botox this week and that the treatment will be successful.

Randy Williams-his doctors still do not know what is wrong with him so please pray for a diagnosis and wisdom for the doctors. He is confined to his bed.

Ruth Lopez-pray for healing-she has had many cysts and tumors over the past few years.

Bill Goss-Chemo had to be stopped until his numbers go back up so pray chemo can be started again quickly!

Rhonda Glanzer- has had a difficult week with increased pain and family issues in Canada so please pray for healing over both issues.

Mitch Thompson gave his testimony in our class Sunday and if you missed it get with him and ask to hear it! It WILL BLESS YOU!! Thanks again Mitch!

Randy and Audi Williams (friends of Patti and Cory Priest) - Randy has medical problems that have been difficult to diagnose and have left him unable to leave the house other than doctor's visits.

Chrisann Fritscher- has increasing neck pain as she waits for the next Botox injection this month. A praise that they were able to find a local in network neurologist to do the injections.

Rhonda Glanzer- pray for Rhonda's family in Canada as they are going through a difficult time. Pray for Rhonda as she tries to support her family through this and deal with increased pain.

Praises:
Mary Conley Thompson received a good report from the doctor about healing in her knee.

Requests:
Jill Jones will be having surgery for her brain tumor on Thursday in Dallas. The plan is to remove as much of the tumor as possible knowing that they probably can't get it all. The hope is that if they can remove the root of the tumor that the parts not removed will die off. Please pray for minimal side effects and a successful surgery. Please also pray for Jill's family as this has been very hard for them. The surgery is expected to last 10 to 12 hours so it will be difficult for her parents. Several of us are traveling to be there with her family that day.

Please pray for Leramie Priest who suffers with bad allergies, especially during this cattle show season time.

Pray for Dana Jones (60), Luther Fore's cousin, who is having difficulty recovering from Pneumonia. She has been in ICU since before Christmas battling heart problems as well. Good news for today, she was sitting up and eating. Please pray for her full recovery.

Chi Alpha - a full weekend where Jr. Hi & Sr. Hi Youth stay in host homes have Bible Study, games, and lots of fun!! Chi Alpha is for FBC Woodway kids, but this is also happening throughout the city at other churches. Please pray for Salvations, growth in Christ, safety, host homes, etc.

Please pray for Luther Fore. He continues to have chest pains that have been unidentified. He goes in today for a scope on his esophagus to see if there is any scar tissue that may be causing this severe pain. He has been battling this for almost 9 weeks. Thank you for praying, brothers and sisters.

Bridger Pearson the Crawford 16 year old who was in a auto accident about a month ago continues to make some progress however there may be some brain damage. Please continue to pray for this family and James complete recovery. Carolyn Hoy wants to visit with James over the Christmas break-please pray she will have the strength to see her friend in this condition.

Stephanie West has asked us to pray for her sister, Suzie. She has to have surgery biopsy in January to see if she has breast cancer.

Please pray for Amber Thompson's, daughter, Mary Conley, who hurt her knee while playing soccer. She has a severe bone bruise in her knee and needs to stay off of it for healing.

Please pray for Dori Mattson's brother, David Weems, who has cancer. He will begin aggressive chemotherapy today. This will probably make him very sick, but hopefully help him to live longer than was originally thought. He lives in Houston with his wife and children.

IF you were in Sunday school, you were blessed to hear about the Christmas Giving testimony of a selfless 7th boy, son of Melissa & Fred Youmans. As we hear how a young youth can forego his own gifts at Christmas to give to an unknown child some Christmas joy/gifts may we be moved to be as selfless and giving as he. Thank you for sharing that testimony and uplifting us all, Melissa.

Sharon Majors has asked us to pray for Katherine Wenzel who is 12 years old and has been sick for a week now. She may have mono as she has been very tired. Her parents are Melissa & Steve.

A sophomore student, Bridger Pearson, from Crawford High School was seriously injured in a car wreck last week. He was medically induced into a coma to help with bleeding on the brain. In the last 24 hours (as of today, 11/25/08) he is showing positive signs like opening his eyes and showing responses to his mom and nurses. Please pray for his recovery.

Please continue to pray for the Jim Spencer family, esp. his mom as she grieves in the loss of his dad who died last week. Jim & Jodi express their gratitude for prayers & condolences during this hard time, and also give praise that his dad is in a better place!!

Today (11/25/08) Bill Goss is scheduled to find out about his Melanoma cancer (located under the arm) and the treatment for it. Please pray for him and his wife during this time.

Please be pray for Daniel Moore who had surgery last week and his having difficulty in recovery being sick in his stomach. You may know his wife, Serena, who is the MDO Director at our church.

Prayer Requests:
Please be in prayer for Luther Fore. He has been having check pains for the past week. A few tests have been made that have come back clear, but a Heart Cath is suggested by the doctor so Luther needs to make this decision soon.

Chrisann Fritscher's sister, Cherie Chadwick, 37, is having an emergency mammogram and sonogram on Tuesday to determine the cause of a breast lump. Please be in prayer for her that the tests may be accurate.

Pastor Toby mentioned from the pulpit Sunday about Cuba Hurricane Relief. The U.S. Government has given FBC Wooday permission to take up to 90,000.00 to Cuba Baptist to help the affected churches. Pastor Toby will lead a team to Cuba on November 29th. Our permission expires December 5th so please give!

Jodi Spencer -Thank you so much for praying for Jim's stepdad Jimmie Rogers. Please keep Jim and his family in your prayers now because due to complications from the COPD he passed away this morning.

Thomas West asked us to pray for an attorney friend of his, Mike Roberts, who had a heart attack last week. He is now in serious condition. Once he is stable the Doctor will perform a bypass. He is speaking now, but very weak.

Jill Jones, who is a member of our church and a very important person to the Anderton family, has been diagnosed with a brain tumor. She is in the early stages of finding this out and the doctors are still determining what to do. She is meeting with her doctor tomorrow in Dallas. Jodi Spencer asked us to pray for her father-in-law, Jimmy Spencer, who has COPD. (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease - in which the lung is damaged making it hard to breathe.) He has to stay on oxygen and is not doing well right now. Please pray for a miracle as his condition is worsening.

Praises:

Rhonda gave us an update on Josh Long-he has had a major breakthrough with his speech and his appetite. Also part of the day at school he is in regular class which the doctor said would never happen. Please continue paying for him!

Will Fair asked us to please continue praying for his friend Bill Goss-looks like his cancer is not as bad as first thought so they are very thankful. His cancer seems to be under his arm only.

Rhonda-she is experimenting with medications and she seems to have found the right combination that has given her some pain relief which helps her to be more active. Please continue praying that she can tolerate an increase in medication so she can increase her activity.

The survey showed many in our class are interested in getting to know one another better outside of Sunday mornings. In the next few weeks, we'll be organizing some new fellowship opportunities for groups of 3 or 4 couples to gather two or three times over a three month period. The times will be determined by each individual group. More information and sign ups will be coming in the next few weeks.

Update from Chrissann!!
(My) pain has subsided so much!! Praise God for the answer and thank you to all who have lifted me up during this time. So many great things have come from this affliction....closer walk with the Lord and with family members as well as others. To Him be the glory!!

Chrisann has really been hurting this week. Her next Botox treatment is scheduled for this Thursday. Please pray that the benefits from this treatment will be felt much quicker than last time and that Chrisann will get some meaningful relief from her pain quickly and that it will last much longer!

Please pray for 20 year old Kendall Kayworth who is the daughter of Dr. Kayworth at Baylor University. Kendall was studying with Baylor Abroad when she became very ill. After she return to the states she was diagnosed aggressive cancer. She will be at MD Anderson for at least 6 months for treatment.

A friend of Will & Carolyn Fair, Bill Goss, was recently diagnosed with Melanoma Cancer. It's very serious, but a praise is that it's not in the brain like they thought it could be. Please be in prayer for him and his new bride Sandy.

Also please pray for church member Doris Womack (80ish). Her daughter and son-in-law are Diane and Bill Korioth (also church members). Doris was diagnosed with a brain tumor last week and was given 2 months at the most.

Praise:

Donna Johnigan shared a praise for her mom successfully going through Gall Bladder surgery. After a little over a week she was up and going even to the Rodeo & Fair with the family!

Request:

Donna Johnigan reminded us to continue to pray for Melissa Green. She is one of our Adult Special Needs in our church family who is in the hospital. She was in critical condition, but as of now is in stable condition. She is able to breathe on her own now, but unable to eat or drink on her own. Her pain med. was causing rash and hives, but that is doing better. They hope that she will regain her swallowing soon and possibly go home this week. Her parents are Mike & Margie Green.

Josh Long Update

Many of you have not seen Ryan and I for a while in Sunday School as we prep the HH and the WORD each week for our kids at First Woodway.

Our son, Josh, has autism with severe dietary restrictions and gastrointestinal problems. He is currently on a three month course of steroids along with anti-inflammatory medications. In January he will begin some clinical trials to help his immune system recognize food as food. Despite the metabolic challenges, he continues to gain in all areas of development as we intervene, and as you intercede with your prayers. We are thankful for our church family and also so thankful for First Woodway’s Special Needs Ministry that allows us to be involved in our church while Josh is in “Helping Hands”. Please keep us and all of our special needs families.

Please pray for my Aunt Marian who is 82 and lives in Maine. She just found out that she has brain cancer and it has already begun branching out. The doctor told her she can do radiation and chemo but at her age there could be huge side effects. Vision loss, hearing loss and even death are just a few. She is struggling with what to and her daughter desperately wants her to begin treatment. Her health before this diagnosis was very poor so this also complicates things. Please pray for my Aunt along with the entire family.

Melanie Cannon praised God by telling us that Mary O'connor who was diagnosed with Stage 3 Cancer in March is now free of all signs of cancer!

Omar continues to feel better, but please continue to pray as he does phys. therapy in strengthening his arm.

Perry Glanzer offered up a praise of thanksgiving for Rhonda as she continues to deal with G B. Please continue to pray for her as she increases her dosage of pain medication.

Vick Sober's mom is moving to Idaho leaving a home that she lived in for a very long time.

Chrisann Fritscher has had remarkable improvement this past week. We believe that this goes beyond Botox treatment, hoping that God is restoring her at this time. Thank you for praying!

Prayer Requests:

Rhonda Glanzer - continues to battle Guillian Barre syndrome. She has started a new medicine that is supposed to help with the pain in her legs. Please pray that her body can handle this medicine as she increases the dosage to the recommended amount.

Chrisann Fritscher - just this past week has reduced pain. Will continue to adjust to a focal dystonia in her neck, a movement disorder. Many thanks for your constant support with prayers and meals! Praise God, He can do exceedingly abundantly beyond all that we ask or think. Healing is completely up to Him, hoping for this side of Heaven and believing He is all about doing His good. He has answered in various ways and one way is how He has kept me in His peace. If you pray, please include Eph. 3:20 and Isaiah 26:3.

Amber Clemens has asked us to pray for the family of Denise Hunter who died of a stroke at age 48. Denise was a school teacher in Robinson so please pray for students and faculty that is so affected. Her husband is the Pastor at Robinson Church of Christ.

Yvonne Minor's sister, Lisa, is going through a marriage separation.

Omar Pachecano - Please pray that he continues to heal from a broken clavicle and that he can sleep at night.

All--I have a update/prayer request for Josh

We just got Josh's labs yesterday and they show that he has a major relapse with the yeast and bacteria problem we identified in 2006. We were quite shocked. He has 18 abnormal scores, severely elevated to toxic levels. For example, his hippuric score is 4020 (normal is 10-400). He has several other problems with yeast, bacteria, krebs cycle, neurotransmitters, vitamins, and fatty acids. Not at all what we were expecting after all the intervention with supplements we have done over the past two years and currently. Please pray for wisdom and healing. Treatment will involve regular IV infusions in Austin starting in July and going back on a prescription anti-fungal medication long-term. We resumed heavy metals chelation as of June after dealing with gastrointestinal problems over the past few months. And an update on health insurance--we were formally denied coverage for our doctors who are out-of-network. We don't really have the energy to fight that battle right now. I have many new concerns as we are seeing emerging behavioral issues that are not normally part of his personality. Lab tests also show that milk is somehow getting in his diet--which he cannot digest, so we are being extra diligent about what he can eat which is already so limited.

up some baby chicks given to us...well two grew into Roosters... Vic and I now have Roosters waking us up.

If anyone would like to have two Roosters before we send them out to the country to become free game for some wild coyotes let me know!

Well Summer is here and it is time to start vacationing!! Send me your destinations, pictures and/or updates from your summer adventures!! But remember, SAFETY FIRST!! We do not want to put dates on the internet of when we will be out of town!!!

The Pachecano family is planning a trip to Maine......a road trip.....I cannot help but to start humming "Holiday Road" when I think about it. Hopefully it will not be as memorable as the trip the Griswold's took to Wally World :-)

Melony Cannon's Mother will have diagnostic test done this Thursday. Please pray for good results.

Vic and Patricia Sober's 8 year old daughter Diana will have surgery to remove a cyst on her tibia on June 12th.

Please also pray for David Anderton's nephew Clint. Clint was in a serious car accident 4 months ago and now he will have surgery to rebuild his leg.

Pray for Revival!
Is God calling Waco into Revival? If you would like to be part of an inter-denominational group of women who are praying for spiritual awakening in our community and at Baylor, join us. We will be meeting for prayer this month at the following locations:
May 22, 6 pm. at Highland Baptist Church
May 29th, noon at Crestview Church of Christ.
We will also be doing a 7 week Bible study on Tuesday evenings beginning June 3rd.

Pastor Don Guthrie update: Pastor Guthrie's illness has brought the church together in an amazing way. He seems to be responding to the cancer treatment however it has left him extremely week. Please continue to pray for Pastor Guthrie and First Baptist Church of San Antonio.

All- thanks for praying.

Josh miraculously was in quite a happy mood this morning at 5:30 am, as we departed for the surgery center for his endoscopy. He continued to be content while fasting overnight until 9am. I knew someone was praying for us! Thanks!

The results show that his esophagus has almost cleared of all inflammation; however his duodenum now has significant erosion. This is a newly identified problem for us since the last scope 6 months ago. This explains why we initially saw improvement, and then starting seeing GI symptoms again. The photos show that there is no redness or swelling with the erosion, which means his impaired immune system is not fighting it. Now we must wait a couple weeks for biopsy results to discuss new meds. Even with this setback, Josh's doctor is confident that we are making progress.

One more prayer request: The night before the procedures, our health insurance denied our request to use an out -of-network doctor based on his expertise with autistic entercolitis. We must now proceed with lawyers into an appeal process to get reimbursed for over $10,000 in past medical bills and for coverage for future bills. This is a big disappointment for us.

Jeff and Chrisann's son, Hunter (13 yrs/7th grade), he was diagnosed last week with mono. Please pray for protection on him during this time when his immune system is down and his spleen, liver is enlarged. It usually takes about 4-6 weeks to recover so we are praying for a speedy one so he can get back to sports and being the energetic guy he is.

Karen Kay who is a counselor at Midway Middle School - her husband is having a quadruple bypass today (Wednesday).

Mary O'Connor - friend of many in our class going through Chemo for Ovarian Cancer.

Updates/Praises:
Karla reported that the test showed she is perfectly healthy!! Praise the Lord for answered prayer!

Chrisann's sister, Cherie Chadwick, a recovering alcoholic, got a great report from the doctor last week. He said that her good condition is nothing short of a miracle. She can talk, walk, and write almost completely back to normal. WE know it's a miracle, the grace of God, Him answering our prayers on her behalf. God is so good. Thank you so much for praying for her.

Thank you for praying for the Youth Ministry, England Mission Trip. They are set to go. You were asked you to pray for 10 going and there may be 13. Praise God!! Please keep praying as they prepare.

Welcome to our visitors Keith and Donna Powell from Crawford. They have 3 children ages 16, 11 and 5.

Don Guthrie, friend of Sarah & Richard Scott. Has a very rare cancer that is often terminal within a year. He is the pastor of FBC San Antonio and often sits down to preach due to weakness. Sarah says he is such a servant of God and are praying for a miracle. He has 2 boys in college.

Youth Ministry mission trip to Redcar & Marske, England. We must have at least 10 committed youth & counselors in order to go. Please pray that we will have 10-16 committed to go this week. Our trip is set for June 13-24.

Mary O'Connor - friend of many in our class going through Chemo for Ovarian Cancer.

Carolyn Pachecano – Mom fell and sprained her knee and ankle just days before she was to leave for Maine where she lives May-October. Please pray for quick healing and patience.

Josh L. (4yrs.old) and family are currently waiting on a decision from health care insurance to pay for past and future medical bills with specialized Gastroenterologist. Josh will undergo a second endoscopy on May 4 to determine if past 6 months of treatment for ulcerated esophagus and inflammatory bowel disease has improved with medications. Results on May 4th, will determine if he resumes treatment for heavy metals. Need continued prayer for daily nutritional supplement intake and eating.

Traveling With The President

Todd was part of the team that went to provide protection for the President who was visiting Eastern Europe for a summit meeting. These pictures were taken in Kiev, Ukraine and in Zagreb, Croatia.

Tommy Ross' dad is doing much better. Continue to pray for full recovery. He is out of the hospital and is in rehab.

Karla Fore - last week experienced a sudden lapse of vision and speech then was taken to the emergency room. They do not know what has caused this and are waiting to hear what doctors say to an MRI done on Friday. Please pray for the doctors to accurately assess/diagnose the problem.

Todd Brown - leaves this week and will be gone for 3 weeks, then back home for 6 weeks and will repeat this until the election in November. Jane has asked us to pray especially for their kids, Maddison, Jacob and Jenna.

Mary O'Connor - a friend to many, a mom who is fighting Ovarian Cancer. She started Chemotherapy and is doing well so far.

Tommy Ross’ father blacked out and had an auto accident. I just spoke to Brandy and she reported that he is doing so much better than Monday and Tuesday. He did have a stroke but should make a full recovery!! Brandy said they could feel everyone’s prayers and ask that you continue.

Praises:

Patty Priest gave a praise for her Grandmother who just turned 96!
Another praise was having Rhonda Glanzer back in Sunday School!! Please continue praying for her complete recovery.
